The Parental Nutrition Program strives to educate families to make sound nutritional choices and develop optimal eating habits.Working together with Health Canada The goal of the Prenatal Nutrition Program-First Nations and Inuit Component (CPNP-FNIC) is to improve maternal and infant nutritional health. Program clients: pregnant First Nations women, mothers of infants, and infants up to twelve months of age who live on reserve, particularly those identified as high risk. Also includes First Nations women of childbearing age on-reserve.
Parental Nutrition Program this is done through interactive nutrition circles at the Health Centre, plus yearly nutrition circles at the Kiwetin School.
Regular community workshops, cooking classes, community kitchens, & baby food making sessions are provided as well. Monthly nutrition handouts go to all the students at the Kiwetin School.
